Rest in Peace Joe Hajnal
Boxing was Joe Hajnal's passion and although he passed today, those he touched through his involvement in this great sport will remember him forever. Motor City was lucky enough to have had Joe as a coach and friend.

Out of respect for Joe, Motor City created the Joe Hajnal award in 2007. The award will be given out annually to one Motor City Boxer who is not necessarily the best in the club but shows the greatest qualities of a champion in and out of the ring. Joe knew we created this award and that it would be presented every year in his memory. He proudly presented it to Johnny Rill the first recipient in June 2007.

We all know Joe didn't lie down when he found out he had cancer. Instead he decided to stay on his feet and fight those last rounds. Joe you did it; still swinging right to the final bell, we won't remember you sick in bed but like we last saw you just a week before you passed, joining our workout doing more push ups than some of the boxers, coaching fighters and challenging them to give it their all to be the best they could be.

Gods speed Joe!

A memorial for Joe will be held:
When: Sunday September 30, 2007
Where: Hungarian Culture Club, 64 Albion St, Oshawa,ON
Time: 2pm
