Motor City Takes 5 Golds At Ontario Winter Games
Motor City Boxing Club sent 7 boxers to the Ontario Cadet Winter Games in Stayner Ontario and came home with 5 gold and 2 silver medals.

Shawn Maddox-Vogel of Motor City defeated Dalton Pears of the Bigtyme Boxing Club in a hard fought battle going back and forth right until the final bell. Shawn came out ahead with a winning score of 22 to 19 bringing home the gold. This was quite an accomplishment for Shawn in his first bout, as he was fighting a much more experienced opponent in Dalton Pears.

Next up was Kyle Wright of Motor City proving once again he was too strong for Jacob Rhules of the Chris Johnson Boxing Alliance. Devastating body punches from Kyle were the key to this win with a score of 17 to 11 moving Kyle to the final round. The gold medal round had Kyle facing Kevin Guenette of the Windsor Amateur Boxing Club. The fight was fairly even throughout the first 2 rounds, Kyle turned up the pressure in the 3rd round scoring well to take the win with a score of 45 to 34 bringing home the gold.

Evan Gillard of Motor City gave Christopher Damiani of East Windsor a boxing lesson for all 3 rounds. Evan's defence was outstanding and his punches accurate taking a clean win with a score of 23 to 10 to take the gold.

Luke Caride of Motor City took a hard fought loss to Adam Charlton of East Windsor. Luke was ahead going into the 3rd round, however Adam pushed forward hard in the final round building points taking the win with a score of 53 to 34 leaving Luke the silver medalist.

Emily Ottewell of Motor City was defeated by Cassandra Black at the end of the first round RSCOS1. Emily had to settle for a silver medal.

Kieran Murphy of Motor City made a statement with a solid victory over Nathan Carzeri, taking home the gold with a score of 20 to 6. Kieran started strong overwhelming his opponent early. He continued moving forward throwing and landing straight punches until the final bell.
