Today, Eye of The Tiger announced the upcoming matchup between super middleweight contender Erik Bazinyan and Shakeel Phinn at the Montreal Casino in Canada on Thursday, April 11.
Also featured on the card is Steve Claggett (38-7-2, 26 knockouts) in a junior welterweight bout.
Earlier in the event, Avery Martin Duval (10-0-1, 6 KOs) and Thomas Chabot (9-0, 7 KOs) will step into the ring against yet-to-be-announced opponents. Jhon Orobio (6-0, 6 KOs), Wilkens Mathieu (7-0, 4 KOs), and Moreno Fendero (4-0, 3 KOs) are also set to appear, provided they come out unscathed from their bouts on the Eye of The Tiger show on March 7.
Bazinyan (32-0, 23 KOs), ranked No. 6 by The Ring in the super middleweight division, boasts an impressive amateur background from Armenia before transitioning to the professional ranks in Canada at 18. Despite a slow start, he has demonstrated his prowess with notable wins over seasoned opponents.
Phinn (26-3-1, 17 KOs) entered the professional scene in 2015 and has since experienced ups and downs, including a setback early in his career and a recent resurgence after a hiatus. Now 33 years old, Phinn aims to continue his winning streak against Bazinyan in what promises to be an exciting matchup.
